Norman Porterfield was born on May 28, 1937 in Wideman, Arkansas to Leroy and Alma McVey Porterfield. He was married to Rose Ann Harber on May 28, 1958 for 68 years. They had 3 sons. Dennis (Patty), Duane (Cindi) and Doyle (Laura). Six grandchildren Michael, Ryan (Katy), Faye Ann, Joshua, Derek, and Lynsi (Evan). Eight great grandchildren Kaia, Hayden, Owen, Micah, Willie, Hazel, Emilia and Rowan. Five bonus grandchildren and 11 bonus great grandchildren and one bonus great great grandchild.
Norman was a member of the Church of Christ. He was very active in the Lord's work. He served as a deacon and an elder and much more, teaching and sometimes preaching a sermon.
He worked at Owens Corning for 35 years in Kansas City, Kansas. After retiring he worked at many odd jobs; income taxes, photography and he and Rose Ann traveled to all 50 states and many countries and continents.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Westside Church of Christ. 8740 State Ave. Kansas City, Kansas 66112.
Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday April 18, 2026, at Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Arkansas.
