Opal Imogene York

Opal Imogene (Branscum) York, age 87 , of Salem, Arkansas was born on May 11, 1930 in Ash Flat, Arkansas, daughter of Tramel Stewart and Viola Ethal (Roper) Branscum. She departed this life on Saturday, June 24, 2017 in Salem, Arkansas.   Opal married Owen Euion York on November 25, 1950 in Heart, Arkansas and to this union three children were born. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a homemaker and a member of the Morriston Church of Christ.   She is survived by three sons; Rick York (Pam) of Heber Springs, Arkansas, Terry York (Donna) of Salem, Arkansas and Brock York (Robin) of Salem, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Hollie Tomboli (Chad) of White Hall, Arkansas, Keri Wilkinson (Shane) of Bentonville, Arkansas, Dusty York (Lyndsay) of Tipton, Missouri, Dylan York of Salem, Arkansas, Brooke York of Salem, Arkansas and Bailey York of Salem, Arkansas; five great grandchildren, Isabella Tomboli, Ethan Tomboli, Noelle Wilkinson, Lila Wilkinson and Lucy York; special friends, Martha Wood and Opal Sanders; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers and three sisters.   Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 ~ 8:00 P.M. Monday, June 26, 2017. Pallbearers are Michael Dover, Ted York, Dean Branscum, Joe York, Trapper York and Brock York. Memorials may be made to Morriston Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
