Paul Terry Sommerfeld

Paul Terry Sommerfeld, age 76, was born November 30, 1941 in Sabastapol, California, son of William Sommerfeld and Geraldine (Arnett) Sommerfeld. He departed this life on January 17, 2018 in Salem, Arkansas.

Paul married Faye Renee Pandolfo on December 2, 1962 in Santa Rosa, California and to this union a son was born. Paul owned and operated Paul’s Automotive. He also owned Bear Taxidermy and loved spending time on his farm. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. Paul served his country in the United States Air Force and attended the Viola First Baptist Church in Viola, Arkansas.

He leaves to mourn his passing; wife, Faye Renee Sommerfeld of Salem, Arkansas; son, Terry Sommerfeld and wife Connie of Salem, Arkansas; granddaughter, Patricia Jean McCollum and husband Stacy of Morriston, Arkansas; three great grandchildren, Austin, Keely and Britney; one great great grandchild, Adam; brother, John Sommerfeld and wife Glinda of Merced, California; four sisters, Billie Faye Nickerson of Chico, California, Pam Kell and husband Mikell of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Linda Youngs and husband Jeff of Pittsburg, California and Karen Sommerfeld of Santa Cruz, California; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. Larry Ring officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Friday, January 19, 2018 at Barker Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Jeff Barnett, Austin McCollum, James Newman, Shawn Vincent, Stacy McCollum and Paul Switzer. Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Billinger, Larry Duncan, Jackie Estes, Don Taylor and John Perry. Interment will be in Byron Cemetery in Byron, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
