Pearl Bernice Pitchford

Pearl Bernice Pitchford, 92, of Salem, Arkansas passed from this life on Monday, October 18, 2021, in Salem, Arkansas. Bernice was born August 16, 1929, to Robert McDaniel and Bertha Potter in Flint, Oklahoma.

Bernice married Wesley Herman Pitchford on January 30, 1947, in Wiseman, Arkansas.  Bernice worked as a cook in food service for many years, picked apples and cotton, and worked at Tri County Shirt Company.  Bernice loved to sew, crochet, cooking, gardening, canning, playing cards and games, especially bingo and Yahtzee.  Bernice was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend, and was a member of the Saddle Baptist Church in Saddle, Arkansas.

Bernice leaves to mourn her passing, three daughters, Virginia McEntire of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, Kelly Baxter of St. Augustine, Florida, and Shawn Yancey and husband Luther of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Heath Hypes of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas and Stephanie Armstrong and husband Nathan of St. Augustine, Florida; three great grandchildren, Colten Hypes, Emma Baxter, and Leon Armstrong; one brother, Lee Roy Henslee (Sharon) of Michigan; many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, two sons (Mick Pitchford and Steve Pitchford), parents, four sisters (Louise, Nettie, Susie, and Ginger), and three brothers (Jim, Buddy, and Denver).

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 22, 2021, at the Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at the Salem First Baptist Church in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Shawn Yancey, Luther Yancey, Colten Hypes, Johnny Bookout, Adam Henslee, and Heath Hypes. Memorials may be made to the Fairview Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home, LLC in Salem, Arkansas.
