Philip William Steward

Philip William Steward, 60, of Salem, Arkansas departed this life on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Salem, Arkansas. He was born to the late Albert Roy Steward and Mary Margarett (Barrett) Steward on July 7, 1958 in Corpus Christi, Texas.                  

Philip spent his working years as a roofer and served his country in the United States Army. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, friend and was a member of the Violet Hill Assembly of God Church.

Philip leaves to mourn his passing; daughter, Tina Strong and husband Shawn; three grandchildren, Raven Strong of Salem, Arkansas, Haley Strong of Salem, Arkansas and Keegan Strong of Salem, Arkansas; four sisters, Mary Hale of Rockport, Texas, Thelma Clark of Rockport, Texas, Karol Morgan and husband James of Rockport, Texas and Michelle Shelton and husband Walden of San Antonio, Texas; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers (Johnny Steward, Michael Steward and Clyde Steward) and two brother-in-laws (David Hale and Shawn Scott).

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 18, 2019 at Violet Hill Assembly of God Church in Violet Hill, Arkansas with Bro. Leon Morehead officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until time of service on Monday, March 18, 2018 at Violet Hill Assembly of God Church. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Shannon Biby, Vance Clark,Jr., Shawn Strong, Dustin Buckler, Rocky Smith, Tojo Massey, Wayne Harris and Shandan Strong. Memorials may be made to the Violet Hill Assembly of God Church in Violet Hill. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
