Richard Eugene Johnson

Richard Eugene Johnson, age 83, of Salem, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at his home. He was born on March 10, 1943, in Adel, Iowa, to Richard Joseph Johnson and Irlene (Sweet) Johnson. 

On September 17, 2021, Richard married Betty Lou Davidson in Delta, Colorado. Together they shared a life filled with companionship, love, and treasured memories.

 Richard was a hardworking man who spent many years farming in Earlham, Iowa. His love for agriculture continued throughout his life as he raised cattle and enjoyed the rewards of working the land. Richard was also a man of many talents and endeavors. He owned and operated Johnson Construction Company in Delta, Colorado, and spent several years as an auctioneer. Whether farming, building, raising cattle, or calling an auction, Richard believed in hard work and took pride in a job well done.

 When he wasn't working, Richard enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He appreciated the simple pleasures of country life and the peaceful moments that could be found outdoors. Throughout his life, Richard made many memories and friendships that will be remembered by those who knew and loved him. 

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Betty Johnson of Salem, Arkansas, along with many other relatives and friends.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Joseph and Irlene Johnson; his son, Michael Johnson; his first wife, Virginia Johnson; and his sister, Vickie Adams. 

Richard will be remembered for his hardworking nature, the many talents he shared throughout his life, and the memories he leaves behind for his family and friends.
