Richard "Rick" Raymond Andis

Richard "Rick" Raymond Andis, age 76, of Salem, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, in Salem, Arkansas. He was born on June 9, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, to George Andis and Lillian (Moscus) Andis.

During his working years, Rick worked as a surveyor and was also employed by Cel Star. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed life in his own unique way and certainly wasn't afraid to let his personality show. 

Rick could best be described as an ornery old coot, and those who knew him knew that was simply part of what made Rick, Rick. He had a personality all his own and a way of keeping those around him on their toes. Beneath that ornery exterior was a man who deeply loved his family. His family meant the world to him, and he especially cherished Shorty, who held a very special place in his heart. 

In his free time, Rick enjoyed fishing, playing computer games, and spending time with his many cats. Whether he was casting a line, sitting at the computer, or surrounded by his feline companions, Rick enjoyed the simple things that made him happy. 

Rick is survived by his daughters, Kassandra Smith, Camille Ripley, Crystal Marler, and Katrina Marler; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lillian Andis; and two sons, Rex Andis and Eric Andis. 

Rick will be remembered for his ornery personality, his love for his family, his fondness for his cats, and the many memories he leaves behind. Those who knew and loved him will undoubtedly have plenty of Rick stories to share for years to come. 

There are no services scheduled at this time. 

Memorials may be made to the animal shelter of the donor's choice.
