Rickey Devon Painter, 70, of Viola, Arkansas passed from this life on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, in Viola, Arkansas. Rickey was born May 8, 1951, to Lillie Helen Barber in Viola, Arkansas.

Rickey was united in marriage to Debbie Kay Brown on December 19, 1980, in Viola, Arkansas. Rickey spent his working years as a truck driver and manager for Mar-Bax trucking Department. He traveled nationwide for a time in a country music band and served his country in the United States Army. He loved church and teaching his kids and grandkids all aspects of life and the service of God and it seemed he never met a stranger. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, friend, and was a member of the Enterprise Baptist Church in Viola, Arkansas.

Rickey leaves to mourn his passing, wife, Debbie Painter of Viola, Arkansas; two sons, Andrew Painter and wife Katie of West Plains, Missouri and Kevin Painter and wife Karen of West Plains, Missouri; two daughters, Tiffany Bowles and husband Steve of Salem, Arkansas and Britney Kiefer and husband Alex of Viola, Arkansas; seventeen grandchildren, Isaac, Connor, Baylee, Paige, Isaiah, Steven, Aden, Caitlyn, Journey, Liam, Rylee, Sophia, Noah, Kennedy, Raygan, Baylor, and Charlee Rae; two brothers, Gary White and wife Cindy of Amarillo, Texas and Tim White and wife Melissa of Viola, Arkansas; two sisters, Kathy Mead of Portales, New Mexico and Penny Hannah and husband Pete of Austin, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by parents (M.L. and Helen White) and grandparents.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, October 30, 2021, at the Enterprise Baptist Church in Viola, Arkansas with Bro. Robert Lash officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. until time of service on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at the Enterprise Baptist Church in Viola, Arkansas. Interment will be in the Viola Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas.  Pallbearers will be Isaac Painter, Braden White, Steve Bowles, Connor Painter, Isaiah Prantl, Floyd Hoke, Russell Barber, and Alex Kiefer. Honorary pallbearers are Boyd Daily, Allen Bailey, Jimmy “Hambone” Roberts, Dave Whitney, Jim Shaw, and Orvel Turner. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home, LLC in Salem, Arkansas.
