Roberta Louise Maguffee, 78, of Salem, Arkansas, passed from this life on Friday, July 18, 2025, in Salem.
She was born June 6, 1947, in West Plains, Missouri, to Fred and Erma (Todd) Ball. On September 4, 1965, Roberta was united in marriage to Henry Lawayne “Sonny” Maguffee in Salem, and together they raised three children.
Roberta dedicated many years of her working life to North Arkansas Electric Co-op in billing, where her diligence and kindness were deeply appreciated. Outside of work, she found joy in needlepoint, reading her Bible, spending time with her family, and being active at the local senior citizen center. She was a longtime and faithful member of Salem First Baptist Church.
Roberta was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and devotion to those she loved.
She is survived by her children: Henry Maguffee (Kathy) of Salem, Calvin Maguffee (Jamie) of Salem, and Heather Gerke of Searcy, Arkansas; four grandchildren: Caitlin Gray (J.J.), Luke Maguffee, Hannah Gerke, and Riley Maguffee; and three great-grandchildren: Jaxon Gray, Elizabeth Gray, and Keith Gray. She is also survived by her brothers, Bill Ball (Debbie) and Marvin Ball (Mary Kay), both of West Plains, Missouri; her sister, Hazel Shirk (Charles) of Bingen, Washington; her sister-in-law, Kathaleen Walling (George) of Salem; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Sonny” Maguffee; her parents, Fred and Erma Ball; her infant daughter, Elizabeth Maguffee; her son-in-law, John Gerke; her sister, Vera Puckett; her sister-in-law, Betty Dihel; and her brother-in-law, Connie Puckett.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. Tyler Fox officiating. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Stateline Cemetery in Moko, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Walling, Rian Puckett, Rick Skaggs, Brent Ball, Jeremy Skaggs, and J.J. Gray. Honorary pallbearers include Roy Cunningham, George Walling, and David McHenry.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
