Roger Leonard Osborne, 81, of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Ash Flat, Arkansas. Born on October 2, 1944, in London, England, to Victor Albert Osborne and Joyce Evelyn Fox. Roger lived a vibrant and full life marked by service, family, and a passion for music and adventure.
Roger proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War working as a heavy equipment mechanic. After his military service, he worked as a farmer, and floor installer, showcasing his skill and work ethic. His love for music shone through his mastery of the harmonica, drums, and dobro, and he cherished attending music festivals. Roger also found joy in traveling, gardening, fixing things, and caring for his beloved cats.
On March 17, 1970, Roger married the love of his life, Katheryn Eleanor Johnson, in Pico Rivera, California. Together they built a wonderful life filled with love, laughter, and faith. They raised their children with devotion and pride, creating a close-knit family grounded in strong values, warmth, and endless love. Roger was a devoted husband and father whose love for his family was boundless. He took great joy in watching his family grow and in the many memories they made together.
He is survived by his sons, Tony Osborne (Florina) of Huntington Beach, California, Duane Osborne of Phoenix, Arizona, and Jonathan Osborne of Hardy, Arkansas; his daughters, Jennifer Dicorato of Huntington Beach, California, Sarah Tyler (John) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Carrie Nichols (Jeffrey) of Searcy, Arkansas; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brother, Michael Osborne (Noni) of Fallbrook, California; and his sister, Suzanne King (Joe) of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Roger also leaves behind cherished friends David and Carol Malone of Evening Shade, Arkansas, who were like family to him.
Roger was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Katheryn Eleanor Osborne, and his parents, Victor Albert Osborne and Joyce Evelyn Osborne.
Roger’s warmth, creativity, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy lives on through his family, friends, and the many lives he touched with his kindness and talents.
Funeral Services will be at Flora Baptist Church in Viola, Arkansas at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 31, 2025. Officiant for services will be Bro. Robert Lash. Pallbearers will be the family. Interment will be at Flora Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas. Memorials can be made to Art Center of North Arkansas. Services are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home, LLC in Salem, Arkansas.
