Rose Oleta (Russell) Ray

Rose Oleta (Russell) Ray, 79, of Elizabeth, Arkansas passed from this life on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 in Elizabeth, Arkansas. Rose was born on September 19, 1940 to Isaac Newton Russell and Rosetta (Martin) Russell in Mountain View, Arkansas.

Rose was united in marriage to John Dudley Ray on November 16, 1957 in Hernando, Mississippi and to this union four children were born. Rose spent her working years as a homemaker and was a member of the Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas. Rose loved her family, crocheting, gardening, her flowers, and listening to her audio bible. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and friend.

Rose is survived by her two daughters, Connie Delargy and husband James of Salem, Arkansas and Beth Waltrip and husband Chris of Elizabeth, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Melissa Ray of Salem, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; two sisters, Margie Heard of Bald Knob, Arkansas and Allie Brown and husband Johnny of Pocahontas, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband (John Dudley Ray), son (Douglas), daughter (Vickie), father (Isaac Newton Russell), mother (Rosetta Jones), step father (J.R. Jones), five brothers (Bill, Bob, Charlie, Leon and Ed) and three sisters (Pearl, Eva and Angela).

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. David Gibson and Bro. Mike Yates officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, June 12, 2020 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Brandon Lester, Lane Ray, Dustin Ray, Daniel Knight, Clint Ray, and Alex Waltrip. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Waltrip, Larry Plumlee, Donnie Lance, James Delargy and Sam Casey. Memorials may be made to the Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.

Please be mindful of our social distancing guidelines. We will have hand sanitizing stations set up at all entrances and exits and with the register book. Signs will be posted as well.
