Vernitha Addie Lee (York) Dover

Vernitha Addie Lee (York) Dover, 94, of Salem, Arkansas departed this life on Sunday, September 9, 2018 in Salem, Arkansas. She was born to the late George Adam York and Loma Belle (Taylor) York on August 21, 1924 in Wiseman, Arkansas.

Vernitha was united in marriage to Lester J. Dover on January 2, 1944 in Salem, Arkansas and to this union three children were born. Vernitha was a homemaker and was a member of the Salem Church of Christ. Vernitha loved quilting, crocheting and reading. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

She leaves to mourn her passing; son, Michael Dover of Salem, Arkansas; two daughters, Sherry Braker and husband Pete of West Fork, Arkansas and Lisa Arnold of Melbourne, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Craig Clayton and wife Christi, Christal Green and husband Randy, Angela Moix, Valerie Collie and husband Richie and Jed Schales and wife Stephanie; twelve great grandchildren; sister, Mae Williams of Franklin, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband (Lester J. Dover), grandson (Chet Clayton), two brothers (Thadneal York and Euion York) and sister (Deletta Kersey).

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. David Gibson and Bro. Mike Yates officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. until time of service on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Barker Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Craig Clayton, Cole Moix, Jed Schales, Noah Moix, Grant Hughes and Caleb Clayton. Interment will be in the Morriston Cemetery in Morriston, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Morriston Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
