Victor “Matt” Matthew CastanedaVictor “Matt” Matthew Castaneda, 49, of Moody, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026, in Merriam, Kansas. He was born on January 27, 1977, in San Diego, California, to Debra D. Galkoski.

Matt was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his two daughters, Ryhlea Castaneda and Tayhlor Guffey, both of Viola, Arkansas; his brother, Daniel Castaneda of California; his mother, Debra Galkoski of Saddle, Arkansas; his beloved dog, Skylar; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Galkoski.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas, with Bro. Tyler Fox officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the dog rescue organization of your choice in Matt’s memory.

Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.

Though Matt's time with us was far too short, his love, friendship, and memories will remain in the hearts of those who knew him forever.
