Violet Eveleen Grice

Violet Eveleen (Yates) Grice, 91, of Oxford, Arkansas departed this life on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in Salem, Arkansas. Violet was born to the late Ewell Gain Yates and Nellie Alice (Savage) Yates on September 1, 1927 in Fellsmere, Florida.

Violet was united into marriage to Homer Alford Grice on September 1, 1951 at Vero Beach, Florida. Violet was a homemaker and a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Church. Violet loved people, gardening, animals and dancing. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend.

Violet leaves to mourn her passing; son, Alfred Grice and wife Jill of Oxford, Arkansas; four daughters, Judy Tillman and Duane Sturgeon of Cave City, Arkansas, Linda Ball and husband Darrell of Wideman, Arkansas, Sheila Coggins and husband Jack of Oxford, Arkansas and Melanie Taylor and husband Scotty of Oxford, Arkansas; sixteen grandchildren; forty eight great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sons (Richard Luke and Ray Morrison), two daughters (Gloria Owens and Cynthia Howell) and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Wideman Cemetery in Wideman, Arkansas with Bro. James Knight officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Pallbearers are the grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are the son-in-laws. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
