Virgie Lee Bridges

Virgie Lee Bridges, 74, of Viola, Arkansas departed this life on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in Salem, Arkansas. She was born to the late William Lee Deatherage and Faye Elizabeth (Simmons) Deatherage on June 2, 1943 in Moody, Missouri.

Virgie was united in marriage to Gaylon Lee Bridges on December 13, 1959 in Moody, Missouri and to this union three children were born. Virgie was a homemaker and a member of the Centergrove Baptist Church in Moody, Missouri. She had a love for fishing and hunting and passed this love on to her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

She leaves to mourn her passing; husband, Gaylon Bridges of Viola, Arkansas; son, Tommy Bridges (Mandi Smith) of Viola, Arkansas; two daughters, Tresia Kennedy (Spencer) of West Plains, Missouri and Patsy White (Ronnie) of Viola, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Bo, Brandon, James, Brittney, Bailey, Roy and Amber; fourteen great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson (Bobby Bridges) and sister (Sue Deatherage).

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Viola First Baptist Church in Viola, Arkansas with Bro. John Hodges and Bro. Larry Ring officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Friday, May 18, 2018 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Bo Dupler, Roy Bridges, Brandon Dupler, Carter Bridges, James Short and Joe Paul Oberbeck. Interment will be in the Mt. Calm Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Calm Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
