William "Bill" Royce Hill, Jr.

William “Bill” Royce Hill, Jr., 61, of Sturkie, Arkansas was born on September 28, 1955 in Clinton, Arkansas, son of William Royce, Sr. and Evelyn Grace (Nichols) Hill. He departed this life on Sunday, June 4, 2017 in Springfield, Missouri.   He was united in marriage to Penny Diane Lawyer on January 18, 1974 in Wiseman, Arkansas and to this union three children were born. He was a math teacher for twenty six years at Blytheville, Viola and I.C.C. Schools. He started Hills Auto Sales with his two sons in 1998. Bill had a passion for old cars. He loved to hunt, fish and watch his grandkids play sports. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a devoted christian and a member of the Salem Church of Christ.             He is survived by his wife; Diane Hill of Sturkie, Arkansas; two sons, Brandon Hill and fiance Samantha Corsaut of Sturkie, Arkansas and Brach Hill and wife Alesha of Sturkie, Arkansas; daughter, Pennie Jones and husband Nick of Frisco, Texas; twelve grandchildren, Mackenzie, Tyler, Baylor, Maylee, Brogan, Adelynn, Dash, Emelia, Brett, Kase, Layton and Blake; mother, Evelyn Osborn of Mountain Home, Arkansas; two sisters, Christy Deatherage and husband J.D. of Gassville, Arkansas and Kathy Lloyd and husband Randy of Jonesboro, Arkansas and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father (William Royce Hill Sr.).   Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Salem Church of Christ in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. David Gibson and Bro. Mike Yates officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday June 6, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas. Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Salem Church of Christ Youth Group. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
