After a short illness, William Carleton Budewig of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, passed away on January 16, 2026. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, William Alvin and Marie Elizabeth Budewig, as well as two children, Christopher Lloyd Budewig and Anna Marie Budewig.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Agnes Ruth Budewig, three children, William Wesley Budewig, Stephen Philip Mabry and Patrick Scott Mabry, four grandchildren, Alexis Ann Budewig, Shelby Grace Budewig, William Calvin Budewig, and Hannah Ruth Mabry and by two sisters, Christina Landers and Victoria Sargent.

Following graduation from the University of Houston in 1969, Bill served six years in the United States Navy. Upon leaving the Navy in 1976, he was a Navy Lieutenant with Vietnam service. During his career, Bill worked as a Utilities Engineer, primarily for Texas Instruments Inc. and later for Texas A & M University where he retired in 2009.

Rosary and Funeral Mass will be 8:30 A.M. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 3612 Best Circle, Thayer, Missouri. Cremation interment with Military Honors will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the Birdeye Military Cemetery at 3600 Hwy. 163, Birdeye, Arkansas. 

 Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
