Wilma "Jodie" Josephine Sutherland

Wilma “Jodie” Josephine Sutherland, 79, of Viola, Arkansas passed from this life Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Salem, Arkansas. Jodie was born to Ralph Emerson Shrable and Lillie Lee Ann (Worsham) Shrable on October 14, 1942, in Gepp, Arkansas.  

Jodie was united in marriage to Ronnie Sutherland on September 4, 1982, in Camp, Arkansas.  Jodie spent her working years as Machine Operator at the Tri County Shirt Factory.  Jodie loved her family, camping, gardening, cooking and feeding everyone.  Jodie also loved to fish and to watch Razorback sports.  Jodie was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and attended the Viola Church of Christ in Viola, Arkansas. 

Jodie leaves to mourn her passing, husband, Ronnie Sutherland of Viola, Arkansas; son, Randy Ninemire (Amy Batterton) of Viola, Arkansas; daughter, Wendy Mickey (Steve) of Mountain Home, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Hilary O’Meara (Sean) of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Andrew Ninemire (Beth) of West Memphis, Arkansas, and Cody Ninemire of West Memphis, Arkansas; great granddaughter, Marleigh O’Meara of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two sisters, Joyce Hodges (Leon) of Viola, Arkansas and Lessie Jean Clay of Viola, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, five sisters, and two nieces.   

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 24, 2022, 2:00 PM, at the Viola Church of Christ in Viola, Arkansas with Bro. John Hodges and Bro. Alan Talburt officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday, March 24, 2022, 1-2 PM at Viola Church of Christ in Viola, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Brad Burlingame, Shaun Burlingame, Zach Harber, JM Sherman, Jarred Sherman, and Ryan Thomas. Interment will be Thursday, March 24, 2022, in Pleasant View Cemetery in Gepp, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Paragould Children’s Homes in Paragould, Arkansas.  Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home LLC of Salem, Arkansas.
